The Official Site of The Philadelphia Phillies: News: Fan narrowly averts disaster after fall
PHILADELPHIA -- The monotonous batting-practice routine at Citizens Bank Park took an interesting and scary turn on Wednesday, when a fan tumbled from the stands trying for a souvenir. Adam Eaton shagged fly balls in the outfield and tossed one to a fan near the railing in left field. Another fan stepped in front, but leaned over too far. His weight propelled him over the railing. Luckily, he ... [link]

Adam Eaton Can Not Catch a Break

Link: The Official Site of The Philadelphia Phillies: News: Fan narrowly averts disaster after fall . Adam Eaton shagged fly balls in the outfield and tossed one to a fan near the railing in left field. Another fan stepped in front, but leaned over too far. His weight propelled him over the railing. Luckily, he grabbed the railing with one arm as he fell to the warning track, allowing him to land on his feet, rather than his head. "It was one of the scariest things I've seen," Eaton said. A lot of Eaton's problems come from between his ears, but sometimes, trouble just follows this guy. I would not stand near him during a thunderstorm.

Notes: Myers, Eaton, Erin Andrews, center field and some good tunes

I've been on record in numerous places saying that Brett Myers would not have trouble transitioning back to the rotation after being a closer for most of last season. In hindsight, that was not one of my better predictions. Given his start tonight -- 6 ER, 4 1/3 innings -- I think we have to begin to question his health. ----------------- According to John Dewan's State of the Week, Chase Utley ranks as tied with Oakland's Mark Ellis as the best fielding second baseman in baseball so far this season using the Plus/Minus system as a metric ...

Fans Go Over the Top For Adam Eaton's Ball
Published 5/15/2008 by Enrico at The700Level.com - Philly Sports & Minutiae
With unfortunate fatalities at Shea Stadium and AT&T Park this year as well as that bizarre golf cart incident at Citizens Bank Park last season, Major League ball parks aren't the safest places in the world. Another potentially horrible incident was avoided yesterday at CBP when a fan tried a little too hard for a ball tossed by Adam Eaton during BP. The monotonous batting-practice routine at Citizens Bank Park took an interesting and scary turn on Wednesday, when a fan tumbled from the stands trying for a souvenir. Adam Eaton shagged fly balls in the outfield and tossed one to a fan near the railing in left field. Another fan stepped in front, but leaned ...

The Chance to Own a Piece of Adam Eaton Nearly Kills a Phillie Fan
Published 5/15/2008 by Josh Alper at FanHouse
Filed under: Philadelphia, Phillies, NL East, MLB FansYou'd think this year's spate of ballpark fatalities would have fans playing it a bit safer while enjoying a few hours at the yard. Alas, when it comes to a chance to put their mitts on a genuine big league baseball, all thoughts of self-preservation go out the window. We've all seen scrums for home runs and foul balls but the scariest thing about this story is that there's no judgment made about the ball's provenance. Adam Eaton shagged fly balls in the outfield and tossed one to a fan near the railing in left field. Another fan stepped in front, but leaned over too far. His ...

Phillies come up short in late comeback, lose 8-6 to Braves

Brett Myers dug the Phillies a hole they couldn't quite find their way out of. Myers pitched one of his worst games in recent memory, allowing 8 runs in just 4 and 1/3 innings. Things started off terrible for Myers, who gave up a lead-off home run to Yunel Escobar and then let up another homer to Chipper Jones two batters later. Click the link for much more on the game.
