GAME 3: Starter Zach Duke was pounded for 2 homers in the first, a discouraging sign after a season in which he became arguably the league's most hittable pitcher. Dan Moskos gave up 2 runs in one inning and Marino Salas (acquired in the Torres deal) blew a save. The Bucs did get two off Reds ace Aaron Harang with impressive days at the plate from Bautista, Paulino, and top prospect Andrew McCutchen. Steve Pearce hit the only Pirate homer.
