The Official Site of The Tampa Bay Rays: News: Crawford wouldn't mind DH at times
ANAHEIM -- Carl Crawford looked to be in some pain at the beginning of the current nine-game road trip that began in Boston. He arrived late to Boston and wasn't in the lineup for the first game of the trip because he had taken a detour to Birmingham, Ala., to see the team physician James Andrews. ... LF Carl Crawford says that the Tropicana Field turf is taking a toll on his knees, and as a result, he would like to be the Designated Hitter for at least a game or two on each homestand. Though he will miss four games of the upcoming homestand due to suspension, Crawford would like to broach the matter for future home stints. [THE HANGOVER] Rays Shutdown By Jered Freakin' Weaver
Published 6/11/2008 by noreply@blogger.com (The Professor) at Rays Index

In 3 previous starts this season he had thrown at least 7 shutout innings with 3 hits or fewer and yet he still had an ERA closer to 5 than 4...The top 4 hitters in the lineup were a combined 1-14 with 4 strikeouts and a ...

Published 6/13/2008 by noreply@blogger.com (The Professor) at Rays Index
According to John Heyman of ESPN.com, Cliff Floyd indicated that he will likely retire following this season. Veteran Cliff Floyd (.250, 5 HRs) has been solid serving as the lefthanded DH for the Rays but is injury prone and has been held out of the lineup in recent days. Floyd said earlier this year he's pretty sure this will be his last season.Floyd signed with the Rays as a free agent this past off-season with a 1-year, ...
