With a 9 game losing streak in tact, the Washington Nationals are showing they will not hesitate to make changes. With a plethora of strong pitching prospects in the system, the Nationals will be more than willing to strengthen the pitching staff through prospects if veterans can’t get the job done.
Just ask Jason Bergmann.
Bergmann, who was expected to be the Nationals number two starter, was optioned to Columbus (AAA), while closer Chad Cordero was activated from the DL. Bergmann has been hammered for 16 runs in under 13 innings.
