Nats Notes (4/24/08) — Nats Winning 10-4 in 7th inning
DC Pro Sports Report — Well, there isn’t really anything positive to write about.  This team just purely stinks right now.  Until they find some kind of identity, consistency, and purpose, just expect more of the same.  Personally, if it is going to be this bad, I am ready to see younger guys like Colin Balestar.   After all, the best pitcher on this staff is another youngster, John Lannan.  Lannan is by far ready for the Majors and I think he is actually ready to take over as staff ace.  He has the pitches, the mentality, the arm, and the confidence. Ok, there is my little rant of frustration.  By the way, wasn’t the offense suppose to be improved?  Hmmm. King lasted little … ...

Felipez Navidad!
The Nationals Enquirer — "Even when he didn't win the job out of spring training, he never put his head down. He worked hard, had a good attitude. He knew it from the get-go. I told him: 'It's a long season. It doesn't mean you can't work yourself back into the lineup.'" (Manny Acta, via Washington Post, 4/25/2008) Nats 10, Mets 5: Felipe Lopez slam dunks Mets. What kind of idiot would've called for a trade to the Cubs in the spring involving FelipE and and some spare fungo bats? 2 more hits for WiMP last night (and reportedly, no ...

Actually, you could make that two of three! Or four of 20! Nats finally beat the Mets, 10-5. Jon Rauch a bit sloppier than need be in the ninth, what with Marlon Anderson's solo homer to lead it off. But they match a season-high with 13 hits and score ...
