Just wanted to get you guys caught up on a couple of injury notes from Friday evening around baseball:
Brewers ace Ben Sheets threw five innings of two-hit, shutout ball Friday night against the Reds, but then he left with soreness in his right triceps. He threw only 60 pitches, striking out 4 batters and walking none. Early word is that he left for precautionary reasons, but when Sheets is involved, there has to be a major level on concern. Stay tuned.
Braves left-hander Tom Glavine was placed on the 15-day DL afterall. Remarkably, this will be his first time on the disabled list in his 22-year major-league career. Quite amazing. ...

It was about time! We decided to skip watching or listening to the game all together (it’s been a rough two weeks) and instead drive south to watch the Potomac Nationals on this beautiful night in Virginia.
Manny decided to shake things up too by rewarding Felipe Lopez’s patience and good attitude with two consecutive starts and the lead-off spot. The move was an effort to jump start the offense — and it worked. Lopez led off the first inning with a double. Overall, he had a 3 for 5 night with 2 runs scored and a stolen base. Nats activate SP Hill from DL, place C Lo Duca on DL

The Washington Nationals activated righthander Shawn Hill from the 15-day disabled list. As Charlie Nobles notes, Hill is still in the process of recovering from offseason surgeries on his left shoulder and right forearm:
“Now, Hill is back. He still has some scar tissue from the surgery, which gives him pain particularly when he’s warming up between innings. But he feels that the more he pitches, the less pain he will have.” (Charlie Nobles, MLB.com)
