The Only Good Mets Fan is One in Cuffs
Pictures from one of a few Mets-Phils fan brawls at Citizens Bank Park this weekend. I have it on good authority that the Mets fans were drunk and out of control, and the Phillies fans only reacted only in self defense, and nobly at that, saving children and restoring order. [link]

Mets Fans Are Feeling a Little Punchy

... Enrico at the 700 Level brings us a photo gallery that is sure to make non-Mets fans like myself giggle like a schoolgirl. Seems as if a Mets fan at the Mets-Phillies game this past Saturday was involved in a fracas that ended with him taking a swing at a cop, or as you people in Boston call it "a cawp". ...

One of my favorite lines from that post, one of many mind you, points out one Mets fan at the game thusly, “How can you mock a guy with a Shinjo tee shirt? That’s hardcore.” For More on all this nonsense and some more pics go to yesterday’s follow up here. Share This ShareThis

BLS Poll: Which team can lay more claim to Lenny Dykstra?
Published 4/22/2008 at Big League Stew
If you head on up to The 700 Level, Enrico and his boys have a couple cufftastic pics of Mets fans being detained at Philly's Citizens Bank Ballpark over the weekend. One of the young lads is wearing a Lenny Dykstra #4 Mets jersey in a city that also adores Nails, which led me to wonder the following. Which team is Dykstra is most identified with? Which fanbase can lay more claim to him? I think the right answer is to say that Dykstra is a Phillies. He played in Philadelphia for 8+ seasons, made his three All Star appearances in a Phillies uniform and finished second in the '93 MVP voting there. He was the face ...

Yeah, what's your buddy's name? "Steez?" That's catchy. Hey, Steez! How do those cuffs feel? Hope you can afford bail, you red-headed sack of fuck. This Phillies-Mets Game Has Been Brought to You by Chico's Bail Bonds
Published 4/22/2008 by Josh Alper at FanHouse
... The game itself was even held up briefly late in the game on Saturday as a moron in a hideous Mets Dykstra jersey threw haymakers at a rival fan. That would be the faux-Nails in the above photo being escorted from the game in handcuffs. This isn't meant to indict Mets fans, it takes two (or more) to tango, after all, and drunken Phillie fans are no less deserving of blame than drunken Met ones. Philly for Hillary

Wherever you stand on Election '08, I hope you agree that none of it belongs at a baseball game. Baseball should be an escape, away from all the trials and tribulations of daily life, not another billboard to promote your "cause." Every time a left handed batter comes to the plate, these two supporters hold up their signs for the world to see.

Should the Mets Pursue Frank Thomas?

....Now I'm not saying Frank Thomas is the end all be all, but it would not hurt to have a power hitting right hander off the bench or even to play first against left handed pitching where Delgado is an easy out, hitting .200 with a putrid .273 on base percentage. Even though Delgado's average is still just .200 against right handers, his on base percentage is a respectable .341.....

Phillies finally beat Rockies

The Phillies finally proved they could be the Rockies. Unfortunately this was just a meaningless game in April, but the Phils still pulled out a nice come-from-behind victory over the team that smoked them in the playoffs last year. Thanks to another shaky outing by Kyle Kendrick, the Phillies trailed early, but their offense came alive to dig themselves out of the 3-run deficit........
