daddycane who wouldn't love to have this problem?-
MrThell It's certainly an enviable position in a league of big-man starved teams.

-
The Zoner Start with a call to John Paxson, and we'll go from there! -
mookie Would the Jazz be interested in Raef LaFrentz? ;)
-
Brian Given Millsap's emergence and Boozer's mouth/injury history, I just don't see how he returns to Utah next season, outside of him deciding not to opt out. In fact, it wouldn't be totally shocking if the team floated him around the trade deadline to see what they could get in return. How about to the Thunder for Collison, salaries, and two of those five first-rounders they have (assuming Boozer agreed to a contract extension)?-
MrThell That makes a good bit of sense. The Thunder get the rebounding, low-post scoring and general inside presence they've been craving. A starting lineup of Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, Jeff Green and Boozer could win some games.
Utah would get rid of an injury-plagued player who is turning out to be a headache, free some cap space, focus on re-signing and developing Millsap, save some money and get some picks out of the deal.
Win win.

UtesFan89 The question is, how much would a team be willing to give up for an injury prone big that'll opt out after the season and that hasn't played in almost 4 months? He'll be getting back right around the deadline, which also impacts things.
That's said, it's a very well written article. Personally, while Booze is an All-Star, I'd much rather have 'Sap around (if I had to pick 1 of the 2).

-
The Zoner He was healthy the last 2 years, and as a Bulls fan, well besides Rose, have at the roster! Seriously, when he is healthy Boozer is a pretty dominant player.
-
UtesFan89 Yes, but you can't depend on his health, and his cost might be too high for a team that's not going to go over luxury tax limit.
-
-
ballerblogger I think it's way to early to crown Millsap as Utah's PF of the future. Yes, he's had an unbelievable run over the last two months. But it's not as if his play has been unprecedented.
There have been a number of NBA players who played like All-Stars for a few months and faded back to mediocrity. I like Millsap. He's a very good player. But Boozer has averaged a double-double over the last three seasons. He's a two-time All-Star. And he was putting up big numbers again this year.
Let's see if Millsap maintains his level of play throughout the season before closing the door on Boozer.
-
mookie I agree with the Blogger of the Ball on the above sentiments... the only other thing to remember though is the potential for Booz to fly by night and thus getting nothing for him. I guess that's part of where the idea to trade him comes from...
-
UtesFan89 Agreed. But is that a reason to let him ('Sap) leave town? Because it really seems like the Jazz won't be able to afford both players, barring some huge trade or something. And the cost for Booze, combined with the max salaries that Deron & AK have... it'll eat up most of our cap space. And the Jazz will have spots to fill this offseason.
