With the great ones, you just know. You just know when they are going to do something to win the game. Albert Pujols , in case anyone reading was wondering, counts as one of the great ones. I've noted before when it was just obvious he was going to hit a home run . Last night was another one of those situations. Seeing the lead that Pujols was getting off second and how long .

I mean, we've got the pitcher batting eighth, redefining the way relief pitchers are used, stuff like that. And now, he's showing that he's not bound by convention with his leadoff man. Chris Perez Could Close in St. Louis

It's possible that there could be a new closer in St. Louis come next week following Jason Isringhausen blowing another save last night, and as he put it "[P]itched like a second grader." With a meeting today with members of the Cardinal brain trust it seems possible that minor leaguer Chris Perez will be called up and become the Cardinals closer for the time being.
