The Ten Worst NBA Names

The NBA is filled with great basketball players, but you have to wonder what some of their parents were thinking when they named them.

Here's my countdown of the NBA's worst named players:

10. Martell Webster- Just imagine if you had that name growing up, and then imagine how many friends you'd have.

9. Monta Ellis- Half monster, half mantis.

8. Darko Millicic- Don't mistake him for the movie Donnie Darko.

7. Kirk Hinrich- All systems go, Captain! Look at his ears, too!

6. Carmelo Anthony- The candy bar is cool, but not cool enough to name a kid after it.

5. Vladimir Radmanovic- Isn't Vladimir Dracula's first name?

4. Jake Tsakalidis- A normal first name, and a last name that kinda rhymes with psychadellic?

3. Zaza Pachulia- Zaza sounds like a fortune teller. Like from that movie Big! No..thats Zoltar. Oh well.

2. Vitaly Potapenko- He has a cool nickname at least, the Ukraine Train.

 LOL

andddd the number one worst name is......

Nikoloz Tskitishvili

No, I didn't just slam my keyboard putting random letters down. He's a real NBA player, in fact he was the 5th overall pick in the 2002 draft.

But his name....its sounds like five cents and a spell from Harry Potter.

Say it five times fast and wake up from your dream cause that can never happen.

Honorable mentions

Brian Scalbrine, Primoz Brezec, Anderson Varejao, Eduardo Najera, Yaroslav Korolev, Zeljko Rebraca, Stromile Swift, Udonis Haslem, Dan Gadzuric

You know, a lot of these names are bad simply because they're foreign. Nikoloz T....... could have a great name in his native country. But yeah, it was pretty damn hard to pronounce when he played for the Warriors.

Still, it would be a better idea to have the best names, such as World B. Free and D'Brickashaw Ferguson.

Not me. Have to admit I'm chuckling. My pre-marriage last name was Maver and even that people mangled. We were the Neighbors, the Mayers, the Mauers, the Mahvers. Everyone in our neighborhood except us had a noun for their last name - Doors, Halls, Steins, Graves, Poets, Koeglers, Whiteheads, Drapes. I am not kidding.

Possessives and Attributives
Plissken at the Buzzer — ... Your use of "Donte''s" just made my day. Any world where that's proper punctuation is a world I want to live in. Initially I had slight pangs that I was being guilty of all sorts of, "oh those funny black people and their silly names," (speaking of which, how unintentionally tremendous was that ballhype post a while back), but really I'm just a fan of ridiculously unnecessary punctuation in any context, regardless of racial overtones. So ya, viva the apostrophe. Espn and everyone else needs to get their shit together. ...
