It might look grim for the Yanks, but is there anyone who can't stand the Bronx Bombers counting them out yet? When they're four back with three left, it'll be time to celebrate their absence from the postseason.

ShysterBallSplice Today's Russ Smith comes this close to writing the Yankees' obituary, but stops short. Why? Because as a longtime New Yorker and a longtime Sox fan he has long known what most of us have learned over the past few years: you don't declare the Bombers dead until you see the corpse, and even then you get a second opinion.
