    Hey Mike, I noticed something. Check out this video of three pitches thrown by B.J. Ryan in the 9th inning of the series finale against the Phillies. They're obviously balls, but Diaz calls them strikes. If you look at how Gameday and Pitch F/X plot them, they are off by at least a couple inches.

    For instance, that first pitch to Coste is clearly below his knees, but Gameday and Pitch F/X graph it clearly above his knees.

    This data is great but it's not inerrant. I think it's entirely possible that the data misrepresents a few pitches every now and then.

    Remember, it's where the ball crosses not where he catches it. The last pitch to Coste looks about at the knees and is caught below it, which I understand the grype and how it appears low, but I really do think they can go either way, especially if it's caught low (it generally goes for a ball but in this case they didn't)
