Tigers sell 176,000 tickets in eight hours
Single-game Tigers tickets went on sale Saturday morning, and the Tigers had sold 176,000 as of 6 p.m. -- 100,000 more than at this time last year. Rob Matwick, the club's vice president of communications, said the Tigers' sales on tickets.com, a hub of phone and Internet transactions separate from the team box office, rivaled those of the Chicago Cubs.

Monroe hit just .219 last year with the Tigers but hit .271 against lefties and has a .273 average in his career against southpaws. Considering that Jason Kubel who the Twins expect to use at DH bats left there’s still reason enough to carry the right handed Knott.
