Vitor Meira and Panther Racing nearly pulled off a major upset in Sunday's Indianapolis 500.

Scott Dixon holds a lead of roughly four-tenths of a second with fifty laps to go in the Indianapolis 500. Tomas Scheckter remains in third, followed by Vitor Meira and Helio Castroneves to round out the top five. Dan Wheldon, an early contender today, has fallen fast and is now languishing in 14th position. If Dixon is to hold on and win, he may have to do it without the help of his teammate.

Ed Carpenter is staying out for track position and now holds the lead over Scott Dixon and Vitor Meira, Helio Castroneves and Marco Andretti under yellow on Lap 157.

Dan Wheldon got a draft from teammate Scott Dixon and used it to rocket past him in Turn 1 to re-take the lead on Lap 75. A little farther back, Marco Andretti has gotten by Tomas Scheckter for the fourth position.
