Brady gets top spot by virture of "not wanting any more"
Published 6/26/2008 by Deshawn Zombie (noreply@blogger.com) at 18 to 88
Prisco has his NFL Rankings out. He gives Brady the top spot and Manning the 2nd. Whatever. Let's not go down that road again over something as trivial as the opinion of Pete Prisco. His argument that Manning had an off year statistically is patently insane. Manning had his best year on the field last year, and anyone who watched football could see that. Other Colts on the list: The Zombie comes in at 7, Wayne at 22, and Freeney at 25. Also in the 'curious' category is that he lists Mario Williams at 6 (um, ...

... But…wait…where are Bush and Young?!?!? Courtesy of Eric — who must not love me, because he’s never made me cry at work — we get CBSSportsline’s Top 50 players based on last year’s performance. My only quibble with the list is DeMeco not making it (he was an honorable mention), but given that he was sorta hobbled near the end of the year, I suppose I can see it. Maybe. Kinda. ...
Something about lists... comparing Chad and T.J.'s numbers to Steve Smith

... Even today, a list of the Top 50 players, doesn't substantiate greatness. Would Carson Palmer be a better quarterback than Tom Brady with the Patriots? Or would Brady be a better quarterback than he is with New England if he were with Cincinnati's offense based on the supporting cast? What if Ryan Leaf was drafted by the Colts (dude, he'd still suck!). With that said, Pete Prisco put up his top-50 list with Tom Brady leading the NFL. ...

LIST OF TOP 50 PLAYERS WILL RAISE EYEBROWS

... , following the lead of USA Today , which ranked the top 25 NFL players of the first 25 years of the national daily’s existence. Prisco ranks the top 50 players currently in the NFL. His list is right here . At the top, to no surprise, are Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. To much surprise, No. 6 is Texans defensive end Mario Williams. The third-year player is six spots higher than Vikings defensive end Jared Allen. Leading the way in the top twenty are the Vikings with four players. The Pats, Colts, Chargers, and Cowboys each have two. The Patriots have five on the full ...

Pete Prisco Insults L.J., Leaves Him Off Top 50
Published 6/28/2008 by Adam at Arrowhead Addict | A Kansas City Chiefs Sports Blog
... Anyway, on to that hack Pete Prisco’s Top 50 NFL Players list. First off, as I’ve pointed out before, the name Pete Prisco makes the guy sound like a mob goon. Good thing he’s not, because he’d get whacked for an eff up like this if he was actually in the mafia. We appreciate Tony Gonzalez being listed at 46, but what’s up with Larry Johnson’s exclusion. Is Fred Taylor really better than our Iron Man? Seriously? You can say that with a straight face? Taylor has been a very ...
Prisco Makes Top 50 Players List, Blasted for Being Too Perfect

... --CBS's Pete Prisco decided to stir the pot and rank the Top 50 NFL players. Ben Roethlisberger was the only Steeler to crack the list, at #17. Of course, he would have to be below Carson Palmer (#8). The biggest story may be that FOUR Vikings made the top 20: #10, Kevin Williams; #12, Jared Allen; 15, Adrian Peterson; and 19, Steve Hutchinson. ...

Pete Prisco leaves his Jets notes at home and makes a few other eyebrow raising picks as he tries to rank his Top 50 NFL players.

Prisco slights Giants, but who cares?

... Pete Prisco of CBS Sportsline is out with his annual list of the players he considers to be the top 50 in the NFL.
There is only one Giant on Prisco's list -- Osi Umenyiora at No. 42.
I really intended to rip Prisco for having only one member of the DEFENDING SUPER BOWL champions on his list. The more I look at it, though, I find myself unable to get really worked up about the indignity of it all.
I guess a SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP can make you kind of immune to some self-proclaimed expert's list of players he thinks are the ...
Prisco: Brady now surpasses Manning
Published 7/9/2008 at Projo Pats Blog
... Pete Prisco, football writer on CBS Sportsline, is convinced. After taking plenty of flak from New Englanders last season about ranking Peyton Manning as the best player in the NFL, Prisco is changing course and putting Tom Brady at the number-one position this year on his list of the top 50 players in the league . Prisco writes: It's close, but coming off Brady's sensational, record-setting season, coupled with Manning being forced to play without his top receiver for most of last year, Brady has to take over as king of the NFL. ... The great thing is we expect Manning and ...
