Trade Vinsanity? That's the next big idea in Jersey - NBA
David Dow/NBAE via Getty Images Vince Carter's "half-man, half-amazing" highwire act is halfway out the door, as the Nets look to rebuild. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- With the Jason Kidd trade finally, mercifully out of the way, the New Jersey Nets were moving forward Tuesday in their efforts to trade Vince Carter . Multiple sources told ESPN.com that talks with the Indiana Pacers regarding a ... [link]

Nets Looking To Trade Vince Carter
Published 2/20/2008 by Phil at Fantasy Sports Experience
Rod Thorn crossed Jason Kidd off of his List of Things To Do, and now finds himself staring at the name of one Vince Carter. League sources have confirmed rumors to ESPN.com's Chris Sheridan that the New Jersey Nets are looking at various deals to try and trade the fledgling star out of New Jersey and to a bench near you. The New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers are early favorites to land Carter, and while Carter's contract is one issue, the bigger issue might be the lack of time before Thursdays' trade deadline. FANTASY IMPACT It is pretty obvious that Rod Thorn is trying to open up playing time for newly acquired Keith Van Horn... Just ...

Vince Carter to the Knicks?
Published 2/20/2008 by Russ Bengtson at SLAM Online
by Russ Bengtson With only days remaining until the trade deadline, the time left for teams to pull off ridiculous franchise-destroying changing deals is short. So it’s likely that those front-office execs holding massive long-term contracts or misfit players or both are getting awfully anxious to get something done. Especially if their high-priced teams aren’t going anywhere. Hello, Isiah Thomas. Within this ESPN.com column by SLAM favorite Chris “The Machine” Sheridan is mention of a trade so exciting that, if it happens, I’ll go to every Knicks game for the rest of the season, even the ...

Back To Ball

After a week off with minimal posting, my Pacers' battery is fully recharged and ready for whatever the rest of the season has in store. I must say, after that last loss in Detroit, the juice was running pretty low. But, watching the Celtics and Nuggets get after it last night fired me up to check out the Blue and Gold again. I'm ready for anything from a run into playoff contention to a garage-sale salary dump for future assets. Bring it on, that's why I'm here. At least with the trade deadline on Thursday we'll finally be able to separate rumor from truth and know what we're dealing with for the rest of the year. As Bruno points out, the ...

The countdown to trade time continues
Published 2/20/2008 by Toronto Star at Doug Smith's Toronto Raptors blog
Happy day before Trade Deadline Day. You know what’s going to be good about Thursday at 3:01 p.m.? No more silly trade questions. To answer soooooo many of you: No, they are not going to trade Andrea, nor should they; yes, they like Mikeal Pietrus and, no, I don’t know what Golden State would want; yes, I think Bryan will do something small but, no, I don’t know who and where and I don’t have a list in my mind about who they should get. Well, I guess I do but I don’t think Yao or Kobe or Nash is available. Anyway, we are still trying to sniff out news, there’s been very little chatter in the ACC corridors but there’s all morning at shootaround and afternoon ...

GOTTA LOVE ISIAH!
Published 2/20/2008 by The Zoner at Zoner Sports
It could be nothing more than conjecture, but reading that Isiah Thomas was possibly trying to acquire Vince Carter still gave me my morning laugh. According to ESPN’s Chris Sheridan, there have been “preliminary discussions on a three-way trade that would include, among other things, Carter going to the New York Knicks, Eddy Curry to Miami and the expiring contracts of Jason Williams and Ricky Davis to New Jersey.” Vince Carter recently turned 31 and might need surgery over the summer on his ankle. Go, Isiah, go. Jamal Crawford, Zach Randolph, Vince Carter, Stephon Marbury… How bad are the ...

Knicks Update: Knicks beat Wiz; Curry For Carter?
Published 2/20/2008 by Stop Mike Lupica at Stop Mike Lupica
Quick update on the Knicks.  First off: Found that via Son of Dippin', who had this classic caption: "That's lead paint". Watched last night's game against the Wizards... here's pretty much all you have to know: Eddy Curry is definitely on his way out.  Isiah Thomas has decided that only one of the Zach Randolph/Eddy Curry duo is going to play, and it appears to be Randolph.  It's actually the right call, in the end.  Randolph scores, rebounds, and has a nice passing touch (not reflected in his assists numbers).  He just needs to be quicker in his decision making right now.  The ...

Trade Machinations: Eddy Curry to Miami, Vince Carter to the Knicks
Published 2/20/2008 by Tom Ziller at FanHouse
Filed under: Nets, Knicks, Heat, NBA Rumors, Miami, New YorkWith the NBA trade deadline looming, Trade Machinations rounds up real rumors (and creates fake ones) of moves that'd make the NBA a better, brighter place. ESPN's Chris Sheridan gives heavy rotation to an intriguing rumor out of NYC this morning: Eddy Curry to Miami, exipring contracts to New Jersey, and Vince Carter to the Knicks. On the surface, it'd seem to fit everyone's goals -- NJ gets closer to financial freedom, Miami gets a Shaq replacement at about 1/2 the price (and something like 2/3 the ...

Pat Riley can go fellate a moose.
Published 2/20/2008 by Seth at Posting and Toasting: Front Page Posts
From Alan Hahn's blog: A story filed this afternoon by Ira Winderman of the Sun-Sentinel said Pat Riley was asked specifically about Eddy Curry at Wednesday's practice at AmericanAirlines Arena. According to Winderman, Riley said, "Wrong. Wrong. That's a blog b.s. Not that I don't have respect for him, but that's blog b.s." As far as I can remember, the whole ...

Countdown to trade deadline: Will they stay or will they go?
Published 2/20/2008 at Ball Don't Lie
Thursday's 3 p.m. (EST) NBA trading deadline is right around the corner. Here's a graphical look at some of the players that might be traded, their interested suitors, and how likely it is they'll be moved: Ron Artest, Kings Rumored to be interested: Spurs, Nuggets, Knicks, Cavaliers I almost went to the underwear stage, but I'm not convinced the Kings will pull off second big deal right on the heels of moving Bibby. Then again, Denver and San Antonio sound like they’re in a bidding war, so that's good news for the seller. Better check the attic for that ...
