DRAFT PROSPECT BENEDICT DIES
ProFootballTalk.com — Heath Benedict, an offensive lineman who played at Newberry College and who was expected to be a mid-round draft choice in 2008, died on Wednesday . Benedict, 25, played initially at Tennessee and then transferred to the Division II school.  The Sporting News draft guide had Benedict ranked as the ninth-best guard in the class, and projected him to be a fourth-round selection. A source with knowledge of the situation says that police have ruled out foul play.  Published reports indicate that drugs and alcohol have been ruled out as well.
