How Much of a Shocker Was Stanford Beating No. 1 USC?
Published 10/7/2007 by TheBigLead at The Big Lead
... Even the announcers had no clue what was going on. They lose track of which team scored, and what the score was. Bedlam? Sure. Two things we love from this incredible upset: 1) the delicious irony of Michigan alum Jim Harbaugh pulling this off while the Wolverines - whom he feuded with in the offseason - toil in anonymity, unranked; and 2) John David Booty - who was beyond terrible, first letting Stanford get back in the game by throwing a pick six in the third quarter and then sealing the Trojans fate by badly overthrowing his open receiver on the flinal drive, resulting in an interception - will not win the Heisman. ...

USC Wins NCAA Womens Soccer Title
Published 12/10/2007 at SPORTSbyBROOKS
USC TROJANS WIN NCAA WOMEN'S SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP: Thanks to Stanford and Oregon , USC won't be battling for a BCS title this year. But that doesn't mean the school will be empty handed when it comes to trophies in the fall. The Women of Troy defeated Florida State 2-0 on Sunday , clinching USC's first-ever NCAA women's soccer title. The path to goal-scoring glory was made sweeter on Friday, when they beat top-ranked rival UCLA in the semifinals. With their sudden success, no word if the soccer gals are threatening to move across town to the Rose Bowl.
