Minneapolis Red Sox 63 links to the story already? Wow, that's an impressive stat. -
Diomedes8 The worst part about Johan is that he is probably going to blow his arm out in a couple of years. The Twins definitely got the best of this deal.-
twins5733 I really disagree, I think he is going to be a great pitcher for years to come. He is smart and strong, and his delivery really is very natural and fluid. That only makes it more sad though that he had to leave.

Redsauce This is the end of it? All this anticipation and it ends up being a deal for some mediocre prospects? I'm disappointed.

... Johan Santana will be a Met pending a contract extension! The best pitcher in the game over the last five years along with the NL’s best lineup! The Mets have to part with four prospects, but the future is still bright in Queens. The Yankees and Red Sox don’t always win everything. If Mark Cuban were a Chicago Cub fan, this would have never happened.

According to USA Today's Bob Nightengale, the New York Mets have acquired two-time Cy Young winner Johan Santana from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for four minor-league prospects. On the surface, the deal seems OK for the Twins: the four players (pitchers Phil Humber, Deolis Guerra and Kevin Mulvey and outfielder Carlos Gomez) are four of the Mets' top seven prospects, according to Baseball America. But here's the weird part - not part of the deal was Fernando Martinez, the ...

But even with Johan Santana, do you still give the edge to the Mets over the Diamondbacks in the playoffs? That would be hard for me to do. Furthermore, the seminole Johan Santana moment for me — and this coming from one of his top fans ...

Here is what the Twins got for trading Johan Santana to the Mets: (these are minor league stats) Carlos Gomez: ('06 AA) .281 AVG, .350 OBP, .423 SLG, .773 OPS, 7 HR, 48 RBI (these are from 2006; his 2007 stats are jacked because he played on 4 squads-including the Mets).
