According to Dave Meltzer, the early buyrate for UFC 81 is 600,000 buys.  This is the low estimate, as the final buyrate usually is higher as late buys, replays, etc trickle in.  In the end the show will probably do around 650,000.  At 44.95 instead of 39.95, it makes it the third highest grossing PPV show in UFC history behind Ortiz/Liddell and Ortiz/Shamrock III. ... to a report from Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, UFC 81 which featured a co-main event featuring Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir will end up at around 650,000 pay per view buys after all the calculations are done. That is great news for the UFC and Brock Lesnar. He sold a lot of pay per views by himself and people will continue to turn out in droves to see the guy fight.
