UNC loses to Campbell in NCAA Tournament

After a great season for the Lady Heels on the diamond, that saw them win a record setting 50 wins (with their record being 50-12-1 overall), their season came to an abrupt end as they were upset in the NCAA tournament yesterday. [link]

The last series of the season did not start the way the Tar Heels would have liked. The second ranked North Carolina (43-10, 20-7 in the ACC) team traveled to Coral Gables, Florida to meet top ranked Miami (43-6, 23-3 in the ACC) and lost the first of three games by the score of 12 to 2.

While the first game of the series between the Tar Heels and the Hurricanes did not go as Carolina had planned or liked, the second one certainly did.

In a three game series between the two best teams in the country, with both having won one game apiece, you couldn't have asked for a better rubber match than the one that was played yesterday afternoon in Coral Gables between the #2 Tar Heels and the #1 Hurricanes.

ACC Baseball Tournament schedule

There is no rest if you are playing college baseball. Having just beaten the top seeded Miami Hurricanes the UNC Tar Heels are now preparing for the ACC tournament being held in Jacksonville, Florida from May 21st to 25th.
