In a three game series between the two best teams in the country, with both having won one game apiece, you couldn't have asked for a better rubber match than the one that was played yesterday afternoon in Coral Gables between the #2 Tar Heels and the #1 Hurricanes.

The last series of the season did not start the way the Tar Heels would have liked. The second ranked North Carolina (43-10, 20-7 in the ACC) team traveled to Coral Gables, Florida to meet top ranked Miami (43-6, 23-3 in the ACC) and lost the first of three games by the score of 12 to 2.

There is no rest if you are playing college baseball. Having just beaten the top seeded Miami Hurricanes the UNC Tar Heels are now preparing for the ACC tournament being held in Jacksonville, Florida from May 21st to 25th.

As I had hinted throughout the series between UNC and Miami, that if the Heels could win at least two out of three they could become the top seeded team in the nation, did happen.

In the first game of the ACC Tournament Georgia Tech (1-0) squeaked by North Carolina State (0-1) by the score of 10 to 9. In the second game of Division/Group A Miami (1-0), winner of the ACC regular season, took care of Clemson (0-1) by the score of 7 to 1.
