Two power houses had met for two games so far. The first game went to #2 North Carolina (38-8, 18-5 in the ACC) thanks to a late rally, while the second one went to visiting Florida State (35-7, 19-5 in the ACC). Both were blowouts... [link]

It was tough going at first as #2 North Carolina (37-7, 17-4 in the ACC) played host to #3 Florida State (34-6, 18-4 in the ACC), but a huge eighth inning gave the victory to the Heels by the score of 11-4.

After the great comeback in game one 2nd ranked North Carolina (37-8, 17-5 in the ACC) couldn't find the same magic against #3 Florida State (35-6, 19-4 in the ACC) in the second game of the series.
