... Because for a must-win game against Croatia, you totally want an oldish midfielder that has barely played a game since he went to MLS. If anyone ever doubted that McClaren is completely out of ideas, this should be all the proof you need. The US named their roster for the friendly against South Africa. I'm glad to see some of the younger players get called up, like Altidore and Edu and Kljestan (...and Eddie Lewis. I don't know.) Three Chivas USA players named to USMNT

Sacha Kljestan, Brad Guzan and Jonathan Bornstein were named by USMNT Coach Bob Bradley to the roster for a friendly against South Africa in Johannesburg later this month. Landon Donovan was the only player from the Galaxy to be named. This is the last scheduled game of the year for the USMNT. The USSF has the complete roster and a story about the game here.

... focus was on Jozy. Oh the U-20 World Cup, kid went on to bag six goals, two against Brazil to lead the young yanks to victory.
Ever since, and even before, anyone who has seen the United States need for a true finishing forward has called for his call up to the national team. Time after time there was a conflict or he was just too plain young to be rushed. That all ended today when Bob Bradley made the call everyone had been waiting for.
Today US Soccer released the official roster for the friendly against South Africa on November 17th.

US Men’s Team Face South Africa Saturday

The US Men’s Team will take on 2010 FIFA World Cup hosts South Africa on Saturday at Ellis Park in Johannesburg. Kickoff for the Nelson Mandela Challenge Cup is set for 4 p.m. local time (8 a.m. CT), and the match will be broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel and Galavision. Fans can also follow the match live via ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker.
It’s the last game of 2007 for the Men’s team and will also help them gain some experience in South Africa prior to the 2010 World Cup. The elevation in Johannesburg is 5,751 feet above sea level, which puts it 471 feet above the “Mile High” city of Denver. The ...
