This morning I watched as the US U-23 men were outworked, outplayed and outscored. It is a good thing this was the "B" U-23 team because they were unimpressive, slow on the ball, made poor passes and didn't play well as a team. It was obvious many of the players didn't have significant playing time together. On the other side of the field Turkey fielded their U-21 "A" team and it showed. These are the Skullcandy ’s I rocked this morning for the opening match of the 2008 Toulon Tournament between Japan and Holland on Fox Soccer Channel. Japan ended up 1-nil winners after both Dutch center-backs let the long ball bounce off the goal kick, with #20 Tadanari Lee skipping past his defender Van Eijdan and finishing with a sweet, outside of the left foot finish past ...En Italiano Per Favore

The U-23 squad just wrapped up their second match of Toulon International Tournament play in France and things did not go as well as hoped. Taking on the Ivory Coast, the Americans fell to a 1-0 scoreline on a second half penalty kick. Both RSL representatives (Tony Beltran and Chris Seitz) got the start and played the full 90 minutes for the U.S. squad. Each player had his moments as Tony ...Fulham's Goal of the Season

Galaxy defender Julian Valentin started and played the full 90 minutes in central defense as the U.S. Under-23s fell to Turkey 3-2 this morning at the Toulon International Tournament in France. U.S. Under-23 national team coach Peter Nowak has named the 22-man roster for the upcoming Toulon Tournament in France, and as SBI told you would be the case last week (and some folks chose to ignore), the roster consists mainly of players on the fringes of a shot at the U.S. Olympic roster.
