... Ross Siler of The Salt Lake Tribune: "As they look ahead to a probable Western Conference semifinals series against Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers, the Jazz can appreciate the urgency of closing out the Rockets with a victory in Game 5 Tuesday in Houston. ... 'We definitely don't want to be playing while the Lakers are sitting there resting," Korver said. 'But at the same time, we can't be looking ahead like that. After these last three games, I'm guessing the next one is going to be just as tough as all these last ones were.'" ...

Lakers/Nuggets Game 4 Chat
Published 4/28/2008 by Kurt at Forum Blue And Gold
... But the things to focus on today are rest and recovery — any series against Utah is likely to start Sunday at the Staples Center (according to Ross Siler out of the Salt Lake Tribune). Whether the Lakers win tonight or at home Wednesday, they should get plenty of rest and time in the film room before game one (although a win today is better). However, tomorrow night Lakers fans should be Rockets fans — if Houston can extend the series one game Utah will have to play the Rockets Friday night then turn around and play the Lakers Sunday. That would be a nice advantage. ...

Crucifido's Corner: Lakers vs. Nuggets (Round 1 / Game 4 4/28/08)

The first round is over. The Lakers have swept the Nuggets, and above all - they beat them the right way – as a team. This series showed to a lot of people just why the Lakers walked away with the West’s #1 seed – team play. They of course played through Kobe, their anchor (as they should), but when all was on the line, they played together to eliminate a 50-win team in a sweep for the ...

5 Things to Keep an Eye on: Rockets at Jazz, Game 4
In another of our continuing series , five things to keep an eye out for tonight in the Rockets-Jazz Game 4 tonight. 1. Sustainable resources. Houston's one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the league; Utah is the absolutely worst on the defensive glass. In Games 1 and 3, Houston was able to exploit this for tons of second-chance opportunities -- it didn't matter in Game 1, when the ...

Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan spoke of his team's need to be more physical and aggressive in Game 4, sparking surprise among the Houston Rockets . "To sum it short and sweet, he's coaching though the media," Rockets guard Tracy McGrady said. "That's all he's doing. I had a coach (Jeff Van Gundy) who did the same thing. "Like I said before this series started, this is one of ...

Basketball Diaries
Houston Rockets 94 Utah Jazz 92 Tracy McGrady is getting all the credit for the upset over the Jazz but not from me. Yeah, he scored 27 points - 7 critical ones in the fourth quarter - but his missed shots and boneheaded offensive foul against Andrei Kirilenko in the last 47 seconds allowed the Jazz to make it a one-point game. My vote goes to Carl Landry, who made clutch rebounds in the final

Game 3 Preview - Utah Jazz & Houston Rockets vs. The FLDS
Nothing like a little religious excitement to amp up a game that quite frankly needs a little drama involved. I am curious to see how many of the wives actually show up to protest. Sorry for the 20 seconds of politics, lets get onto the real game tonight (assuming that the Jazz and ...

All she wrote for Houston
That's it and that's all for the Houston Rockets folks. Yeah, they're only down 0-2, and yeah, they aren't technically eliminated, but they just lost two games at home, and are heading on the road where the Jazz are 37-4. They don't have the depth, they don't have the strength, and they don't have the energy to come back from this deficit, just like the in-game deficits. > A lot of the ...

Behind the boxscore, where the Rockets are running out of time
Utah 90, Houston 84 Perhaps I was a bit harsh on this one's prospects heading into Game 2, I'll fully cop to that, but you can't blame me - Utah has a supremely solid offense, but was going up against a devastating defense that has held it in relative check; and while Utah isn't great shakes defensively, the only way the Rockets have been able to score against them is by getting to the ...
