That didn't take long. Chase Utley, who broke his right hand Thursday, had successful surgery on the fourth metacarpal in his right hand today and the Phillies then made a deal with the Chicago White Sox for Tadahito Iguchi. The Phillies gave up minor league pitcher Michael Dubee. Iguchi is batting .251 with 17 doubles, four triples, six home runs and 31 RBIs in 90 games with the White Sox ... [link]

Aaron Rowand Injured While Playing Tag With Kids

I wish I were making this up. One day after the Phils lost Chase Utley for a month, the on-fire Aaron Rowand is going to miss at least tonight’s game with a “tweaked” shoulder. Rowand informed the team that the injury occurred while playing the little kid game, “tag” with neighborhood children. Rowand is listed as day-to-day.
