Anderson Varejao Doesn’t Want to Play in Cleveland Anymore
Published 11/27/2007 by Tariq Ali at Cleveland Cavaliers News
In a rare phone interview with ESPN , Anderson Varejao expressed his frustration with the Cavaliers and Danny Ferry. “I just want to be treated fairly and I don’t think Danny’s done that.” he told ESPN.“I wanted to come back,” he said. “I love the fans and I really love my teammates. But there are others there that have made it very difficult. It’s gotten to the point that I don’t want to play there anymore. I’m just hoping for a sign-and-trade at this point.” But Ferry is not ready to make the same mistake the Cavaliers made when they signed, yes you guessed it, Danny Ferry ...

... ESPN.com’s Chad Ford reported on Monday night that Varejao is not interested in being a Cavalier anymore and is “just hoping for a sign-and-trade at this point.” The unprecedented negotiations between Varejao’s camp and Cavs GM Danny Ferry has hit a massive road block and has left some marks that probably won’t heal very quickly on either side. ...

Varejao, Cavaliers Need to Settle Their Differences
Published 11/27/2007 by Tariq Ali at Cleveland Cavaliers News
... as a reason for James to stay or leave. This summer’s Varejao is next summer’s Daniel Gibson, who will be a restricted free agent then. This is what it is to have a star on your team in the NBA in modern era and it isn’t changing anytime soon. What does need to change is the attitudes. Instead of getting creative in fighting to win the public relations battle, the two sides need to get creative to resolve their differences, otherwise it will continue to be just painful.” Sources: ESPN , ...

So, we are at an impasse
Published 11/27/2007 by rickg15 at Halftime Adjustments
Read an interview from ESPN’s Chad Ford today. He talked with Anderson Varejao from his home in Brazil. The article paints a bleak picture for the Clevelanders that are fans of the wild haired flop artist. It seems there is little chance of Varejao playing in Cleveland anytime soon. Ford spreads the blame around in the article. Apparently Danny Ferry has developed a reputation around the league for being a difficult negotiator. In any case it seems the Cavs are unwilling to invest starter pay for a sixth man. I suppose you would be a little gun shy too if your recent track ...

Varejao Wants to Break Up With the Cavs
Published 11/27/2007 by Marcel Mutoni at SLAM Online
... Following a successful season where he emerged as a hard-nosed player with a bright future, Varejao demanded big money from the Cavs, and when they wouldn’t give it to him, he refused to show up for work. Frustrated with the lack of progress in the negotiations, Anderson Varejao now says he no longer wants to play in Cleveland. ...

... After a long silence, Anderson Varejao decided to take his battle with the Cavaliers public and talked to ESPN about his situation. He said some damning things about the organization, and apparently the slap fighting has gone far enough for him to declare that he's been eternally jaded by the works of NBA business. ...

... ESPN's Chad Ford talks to Anderson Varejao, who is mired in a negotiation impasse with Danny Ferry and the Cavaliers. Ford points out some irony: "One of the handful of similar cases happened when Ferry himself refused to sign with the team that drafted him, the Los Angeles Clippers, decided instead to play in Europe and eventually forced the Clippers to trade him to, yes, Cleveland." There's also this money quote from Varejao: "I'm willing to go and play in Europe if that's what it takes. I know it's a risk and I'll be a restricted free agent next ...

Rasheed practiced with the team on Tuesday and should be ready to play Wednesday night against Cleveland (like we didn't know he was saving himself for a little payback). Rip is still questionable with Flu like symptoms, if he doesn't play Afflalo will start in his place. Bitten early by the injury bug. What a pleasure it will be to watch The Pistons and The Cavs go at it without Varejoke. He's pretty upset with The Cavs at this point and wants out. Varejao on Cleveland: ‘I don’t want to play there anymore’

Looks like the long drought of Kobelenko-like drama is finally over.
It appears as if our flopping friend down south is unhappy with the way re-signing negotiations have been handled and now wants out of Cleveland.
From ESPN:

... – The former Texas Longhorn came to prominence when he caught fire in game 6 of last year’s Eastern Conference Finals against the Pistons. Gibson finished the game with 31 points and five 3-pointers. That shooting prowess was on display again at the Rookie/Sophomore game over All Star Weekend in New Orleans. Gibson did battle injuries this season, is more of a 2 than a 1 and will probably hate the Cavaliers during the off season, as is the custom with Cleveland’s recent restricted free agents. ...
