Justin Verlander Tosses a No-Hitter
Published 6/13/2007 by PostmanR at FanHouse
... Earlier tonight, Detroit Tiger starter Justin Verlander recorded his 27th straight out to lock up a no-hitter against the Brewers . The Tigers won 4-0. He walked four and struck out a career-high12. It was the first no-hitter tossed by a Tiger since April 7, 1984 when Jack Morris no-hit the Chicago White Sox. Verlander also has the distinction of throwing the first no-no in Comerica Park history. This was the second no-hitter hurled this season. Mark Beuhrle threw one against the Rangers on April 18. "That ninth inning was amazing," Verlander said. "It was the best thing that ever happened to me." Um, that's about all the information I've got for now. Discuss amongst yourselves. Congrats, Justin.
