He might be 38 years old, but Doug Weight has been a breath of fresh air in an Islanders' locker room that is showing the strains of rebuilding under rookie coach Scott Gordon, whose methods have left several veterans shaking their heads and wondering if the date on their birth certificate is the determining factor in the role they are assigned. Not only that, but Weight has produced beyond expectations.
