GALAXY's Beckham gets two more big goals Saturday
San Diego MLS Project —
from MLSNet,
“The Galaxy defense was under pressure early as goalkeeper Steve Cronin saw his first bit of action just five minutes into the match. Espindola came racing into the penalty area and struck a high shot that Cronin swatted away and let bounce over the end line.
Two minutes later Cronin met up with Espindola again, this time the goalkeeper coming out on the losing end. RSL midfielder Javier Morales sent a long diagonal ball from the sideline to the back post, where Espindola ran onto it and slipped it between the feet of Cronin and into the net.”
“After withstanding more intense pressure from the home side the Galaxy conceded their second goal in the 18th minute. Morales sent a high ball across the face of the goal that Kenny Deuchar skied over Greg Vanney to nod ...
So Cal Style: Beckham's Saturday onslaught - two Galaxy goals
San Diego eXtreme Sports Coalition —
David Beckham showed how well he can rise to an occasion when needed by his team, on this Saturday night, at Real Salt Lake's Rice-Eccles Stadium. In front of the third-largest RSL crowd ever in that stadium, Becks answered two early Real goals with two blistering stirkes of his own. These were both textbook Beckham (you can watch them below). With this result, a 2-2 draw, LA is now 2-2-2 and remains strong in second place in the West. Beckham now has 3 goals and four assists so far in the season, as well as one MLS Player of the Week honor. Even though the weekend's matches are not yet completed, it is likely that he'll be a favorite for Player of the Week again, and a nominee for Goal of the Week as well - for the sixth round of Major League Soccer.

Clint Bowyer wins in Richmond, in a race Dale Earnhardt Jr. should have, no wait, Denny Hamlin should have won. I’m a Dale Jr. fan, but Denny Hamlin easily gets the hard luck award this week. Won’t talk about Kyle Busch…yet.
Denny Hamlin led 381 of the first 382 laps in last night’s Dan Lowry 400 at Richmond International Raceway. Then, check.
A check was the shape of the cut in his right front tire. Hamlin, formerly of Chesterfield, finished 24th.
