... - I can’t say the next report is contradictory because I made it abundantly clear to everyone that it was just a rumor. With that said, there are now reports that free agent Ian Scott (Chicago) will meet with the Broncos today and the Vikings later this week.

... Two former Indianapolis defenders could also figure into the Vikings' depth. Cornerback Nick Harper and linebacker Cato June both played for new Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier when he coached for the Colts. The Vikings said they were interested in Harper, who would be the leading candidate to play the nickel and could challenge Cedric Griffin for a starting job.

On top of that list is defensive lineman Ian Scott, a part-time starter for Chicago last season in whom the Vikings have expressed interest. Scott could provide depth behind nose tackle Pat Williams -- whose 2006 backup, Ross Kolodziej, hasn't been resigned. Scott is scheduled to visit Denver today and could visit the Vikings later this week.
