Vikings Collapse Under the Sunday Night Lights
Well, the Vikings embarrassed themselves in this must-win game against the Redskins, and likely ruined their chances at a playoff berth in the process. There's plenty of blame to hand out for this one, with quarterback Tarvaris Jackson and coach Brad Childress sharing a good chunk of the responsibility for this awful defeat.

Penalties Down, Wins Up for VikingsVikings Gab
Coach Brad Childress says it’s no coincidence that his team is putting together wins after cutting back on penalties. The Vikings last season had the most penalties in the N-F-L with 123, but this year they’re averaging fewer than for flags per game. Childress set the tone during training camp, having players run the length of the field every time they were penalized during ...

Smith Starts Game Despite TroubleVikings Gab
Safety Dwight Smith started the game against the Bears last night despite his getting a ticket for marijuana possession just four days prior to the big Monday night game. A police report indicates that officers found a small amount of pot in Smith’s car in downtown Minneapolis on Thursday night. Coach Brad Childress knew of the citation and says he will wait until all the facts are ...
It's Mathematical: Eagles Eliminated From Playoff ContentionThe700Level.com - Philly Sports & Minutiae
You know when you're rooting for the Bears to win to keep your team in the playoff hunt, you're in trouble. The Vikings, a surprising team with Brad Childress at the helm and some random fan Brooks Bollinger under center, beat the Bears on Monday Night Football, and finally put the Birds out of their misery. What an anti-climactic way to cap one of the two best weekends of the Eagles season. ...
Apparently the fumble was Peterson's faultESPN.com - NFL Nation Blog
I just watched Vikings running backs coach Eric (insert Bermanism) Bieniemy dress down Adrian Peterson after that fumble. The fumble was charged to Tarvaris Jackson, but Bieniemy walked over and apologized to him on Peterson's behalf. On the TV replay, Brad Childress appeared to be telling Peterson that he didn't spread his arms properly to receive the handoff. And if you want to know how ...
Brad Childress Fears Kyle OrtonFanHouse
Most Vikings fans are probably feeling pretty good about their team's chances in tonight's game with the Bears. They've already beaten the Chicago club once this season, on the road, and in that game Purple Jesus had 224 yards and three touchdowns. The intervening weeks have seen the Vikings take a rocket ride into serious NFC contention while the Bears have been in a freefall toward a top 10 ...

Vikings coach Brad Childress said on Saturday that he expected safety Dwight Smith to start tonight’s game against the Redskins. Kyle Orton and Tony Romo Comparisons and Monday LinksWindy City Gridiron
Believe it or not Vikings coach Brad Childress compared new Bears starting QB Kyle Orton to Tony Romo . "I'd equate him to a guy like Tony Romo, who sat in the back of the meeting room forever and was a sponge," Childress said, "only this guy was able to go in for a full year and operate that offense and then sit back for a couple of years. "I imagine he knows where all the bones are buried, ...
Jackson showing Minnesota isn't one-horse teamESPN.com - NFL Nation Blog
The last time I saw Tarvaris Jackson in person, his head coach appeared to be in the process of shortening both of their careers. A week removed from running back Adrian Peterson's breakout performance against the Chicago Bears, Brad Childress pulled the plug on the Vikings' best player and inexplicably placed the game in the hands of second-year quarterback Tarvaris Jackson in a 24-14 loss ...
I'll take thatPacifist Viking
SI's Reuben Frank writes up a little comparison between how Brad Childress is building the Vikings and how Andy Reid built up the Eagles. Hey, from 2000 to 2006, the Eagles made the playoffs five times, won eight playoff games, were in four NFC Championship Games and one Super Bowl. Though they didn't win a title, they were often in a position to compete for a championship. If the Vikings are ...
