By Cash Kruth / MLB.com 07/09/09 1:30 AM ET MILWAUKEE -- Time and time again, the St. Louis pitching staff found itself in a jam on Wednesday night. And time and time again, the Cardinals managed to get themselves out of it. But the more you play with fire, the more likely you are to get ...

A Tough Split (Plus, Win Free Stuff!)
C70 At The Bat —
OK, most of you know about the free stuff, but let me get this out of the way first before we talk about the last two games against the Brewers. Wilson, the makers of the official ball glove and catcher's mask of MLB, has given me the rights to 20 tickets to FanFest, this week's celebration of baseball in St. Louis. These tickets are completely free and can be used at any time or day after pickup. The only catch is that you have to pick them up in person Saturday between noon and three. If you are interested, e-mail me (it's at the top of the blog) by 6 pm tonight and I'll get the names to Wilson and the pickup info to you. Speaking of FanFest, it's a ...

The State of the Central: St. Louis
sheffieldshouse.blogspot.com 7/10/2009 — We're nearing the end of the our week long look at the NL Central, today's team is the St. Louis Cardinals and their awful, awful mustaches. Seriously, who thinks that would be a good idea, what's wrong with shaved heads and mullets? I guess they had to "70's porn star" it up a bit. St. Louis ...
Series Preview - Cubs
perfectknight.blogspot.com 7/10/2009 — The last series before the Break takes the Cardinals to the Obnoxious Confines for a four-game-in-three-day set with the Cubs. As with Milwaukee, this is their second trip into Chicago, although their first trip here didn’t go as well; they lost 2 of 3 in that April series. Mostly Well-Known ...
Cardinal ’stache attack! A midseason report
thesportsbank.net 7/13/2009 —
By Jake McCormick
It’s the All-Star Break and the St. Louis Cardinals are partying like it’s 1985. Literally. Instead of sporting retro powder blue jerseys, Cardinal starters and some position players are growing moustaches in true Tom Lawless and Todd Worrell fashion.
I guess when ...
Gray Times for the Browns

The Cardinals, On The Run and the Number 6
baseballreflections.com 7/1/2009 — In Cardinal Nation , we know that six is a serious number. The local On The Run Mobile gas stations have had a promotion the past few years that, if the Cardinals scored six runs or more in a game, the next day fountain drinks , coffee, etc. was only a quarter at their stores. This year, ...
