 WE ARE FRICKIN' NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!!!11!!!111!!!!1eleve1!!!ntyone!!!!!
That shot, and the picture that is immediately preceding these National Championship-driven words, is the greatest shot in Kansas history. Mario Chalmers is now, officially, my most favoritest of players in any sport of all time. And he will stay that way for awhile. You, Jayhawk fan, are a Frickin' National Champion! HOMES! ROCK CHALK! Who the hell will the Colts draft 2008: Kent State CB Jack Williams
Published 4/8/2008 by BigBlueShoe <info@stampedeblue.com> at Stampede Blue: Front Page Posts
... First of all, congrats to Kansas fans everywhere. I was rooting for them last night, and for their coach Bill Self. I remember a few years ago he got a highly ranked Kansas team into the tourney only to lose in the second round. Everyone wanted his head on a pike. Now, he's the Prince of Lawrence. Meanwhile, the incompetent John Calipari continues to show us how to lose games down the stretch. I have nothing against Memphis, but Calipari is a total boob and I had issue with him losing, again. ...

KU Fans and Roy Williams

With the upcoming game pitting Kansas against North Carolina on Saturday, there has been a lot of coverage on Roy Williams having to play the school he formerly coached for 15 years. 95% of the coverage has been about poor Ol' Roy and how the KU ...

Grab Some Road Roy...
I don't get it. I just don't. Why was Roy Williams in the stands rooting for KU last night? And sporting a Jayhawk sticker on his shirt. I get the fact that Roy can't stand the thought of somebody not liking him, but this has gone on too far. Let me get this straight: 1) You leave Kansas to go coach another school 2) You do it in a manner that creates animosity 3) You finally have to play ...

Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk, KU
As a Kansas native, my dog is thrilled with last nights result. As a Kansas resident for four years, I could care less. Someone else who is thrilled with last night's result is Rich H., winner of this year's Greater Chuckie Hacks Open! OK, last nights' results really didn't matter since Rich had UCLA winning it all and already had our little competition wrapped up, but a great game to watch none
The 2008 Shining Moment of Rock Chalk Jayhawk
A national title in college basketball combined with a BCS bowl victory in football leads me to wonder, WTF is going on in Lawrence, Kansas? I hope the hole in the wall bar near campus, "The Wheel" is still standing come Tuesday morning. The TV footage of partying in Lawrence looks awesome. It was a crazy game and ending that I will dissect in greater detail later.
Rock Chalk Jayhawk - Kansas #1 in College Sports
Lawrence Kansas is the center of the college sports world this year. College football and basketball are the two most populars men's sports, and there was nobody better this year than the Jayhawks. The Jayhawks officially were crowned champions of NCAA basketball, and since there is no championship in football the Jayhawks can claim the top spot in that sport as well. You might ...
Gameday Open Thread: NCAA Championships
Here's a nifty little thread in case you want to drool over Derrick Rose while watching tonight's game.  It should be a good one. With apologies to KP, though, if I hear "Rock Chalk, Jayhawk" one more time on the radio today I'm going to poke out my eardrums with an icepick.  I mean, come on...is that supposed to be Klingon or something? --Dave ( blazersub@yahoo.com )
Predictible
I received a lot of calls today from friends asking if I got nervous watching the KU-UNC game last night when the Heels pulled within 6. To be honest, I didn't. I spent 15 years of my life watching the exact game where KU was down by 4-10 points and our coach didn't know what to do. He usually would go to a trap instead of full court press that would lead to 6-8 quick points for the other ...
Rock Chalk Jayhawk
Mangino photo excuse Normally, we wouldn’t have a dog in tomorrow night’s national championship game. If a Big Ten team were playing, we’d probably be pulling for them, but when two great neutral teams square off, we just hope to get a good game out of it. This year, however, we’ll be pulling for the Kansas. It’s not because Self spent some time in the ...
Rock Chalk Jayhawk! Kansas Roars Into Finals
From the Associated Press What Roy Williams needed was a comeback for the ages. What he got was a disappointing dose of payback -- a chance to see what it feels like when Kansas breaks his heart. The Jayhawks left their old coach in the dust Saturday night, getting 25 points and seven rebounds from Brandon Rush to stave off a ferocious comeback by North Carolina for an 84-66 ...
Tar Heel Behind Jayhawk Lines: Five Questions With an Enemy Blogger
It is D-Day for the Final Four. All four of the #1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament have survived ... but two will fall today. The second game this evening pits Kansas and North Carolina in what is now known as the "Ol' Roy Game". I have been a Tar Heel fan my entire life and know what to expect from UNC. To get prepped up for the game, I decided to chat up with the Rock Chalk Talk blog about ...
Rock Chalk, Jayhawk. Go Royals!
There’s no use in lying. Baseball wasn’t the first thing on my mind when I woke up late Monday afternoon, badly hungover, got a shower, jumped in the car and sped to the ballpark. Neither was baseball foremost on the minds of most of the capacity crowd at Kauffman Stadium who braved the cold wind for the Home Opener against the Yankees. Not that we weren’t psyched for the 2008 Royals season. ...
Rock Chalk Jayhawk (Bruin, Tiger, and Tar Heel Too)
Maybe having all #1 seeds play in the Final Four for the first time ever will ensure us some close, interesting games — because watching three of the four teams whoop up on their opponents in Elite Eight games isn’t the most scintillating viewing. UCLA was expected to win the West easily — playing a series of what could have been considered home games in Anaheim — ...
Links of the Day: March 30, 2008
- Stewart Mandel on Bill Self trying to get the Final 4 : We’re really hoping Self gets to the Final 4 if only for the awkward Roy Williams press conferences and the look on his face when he sees Kansas on the other side of his court. If this ends up happening, the Jayhawks in attendance have to do some form of “Rock Chalk, Jayhawk” when Roy gets to the court. I’m not ...
