... The D-backs are engaged in talks with Brandon Webb to extend his contract beyond 2010. Although negotiating with a pitcher who just won his 8th straight game to start the year might not be the best timing, Webb certainly deserves it. History has proven (Barry Zito, we are looking at you) that long-term contracts for pitchers are not generally a good idea, but Webb certainly has earned some security and a bigger paycheck.
