Week 3 Review

After 3 weeks, we’ve seen the leaderboard change every day and the standings will certainly be exciting to watch as we get closer to our first prize check point on May 15th, 2008. Finally, there's some separation taking place & these owners need to thank Derrek Lee & Chase Utley for bringing them to the top of our leaderboard!

Last week, The Hundo’s only held a share of the lead, but are in sole possession of the top spot this week with 54 HR.  There isn’t much breathing room for our leader though, as hill is in 2nd with 53 HR and PPP3 hold the 3rd spot with 52 HR.  The Home Run Players and #1Philsfan round out of Top 5 with 50 HR each.

Bats Calhouns takes home the Cellar Dweller Award for the week with only 31 HR.

Let’s take a look at the pool player results after 3 weeks…

1 player with 8 homeruns

What can you say about Chase Utley?  He’s on fire and on very few HR Derby rosters.  Watch for the breakdown later this week.

1 player with 7 homeruns

Derrek Lee seems to have fully regained his stroke and shame on you Cubs fans that didn’t pick him.

4 players with 6 homeruns

Carlos Pena, Chipper Jones and Pat Burrell are all overshadowed by the red hot Ramirez.  It’s just Manny being Manny.

8 players with 5 homeruns

In a group of young and old, former and future MVPs, Richie Sexson is the surprise name.  He’s swinging a hot bat, but remains a walking injury risk.

11 players with 4 homeruns

This group is primarily made up of A and B list players, but Josh Hamilton is showing the world why you don’t give up on premium talent.

19 players with 3 homeruns

Nick Markakis and Joey Votto are coming off huge weeks and lead the list of players with 3 bombs.

19 players with 2 homeruns

Jimmy Rollins has an injured ankle to blame for his spot in this group, but what’s wrong with Vlad and Adam Dunn?

18 players with 1 homerun

Congratulations on your first HR, Mr. Fielder, but it only took Evan Longoria 9 professional at bats to tie you.

13 players have failed to go deep

Let’s be honest.  If you’re still in the Goose Egg Club after 3 weeks, he better be injured or in the minors. 2 players can use the minors excuse. 4 players have missed significant time due to injuries and we’ll count Bonds as #5.  That leaves us with 6 guys who really hope that April ends soon.  Troy Tulowitzki, Hunter Pence and Delmon Young are all names that you’re getting sick of looking at if they’re wasting space in your lineup.
