If there's one thing that a few weeks of Grand Theft Auto 4 have taught me, it's that if you're running from the cops, firing at them is a tremendous way to get more of them to chase after you. In the video game, this inevitably leads to a cycle of shooting and running that, right around the fifth star, becomes unsustainable. Eventually, Niko gets got. That GTA reality, despite having a pretty strong correlation to our own, is definitely not the real thing.
