Weight shifted to point on Isles power play
SUNRISE, Fla. - When this season began, Islanders coach Scott Gordon said he was against using a forward at point on the power play because they tend to take more chances and often get burned by turnovers. That vow lasted exactly three games. Then Gordon moved top-line center Doug Weight to left point on the top power-play unit with defenseman Mark Streit at the right point Thursday at Tampa Bay and again last night at Florida.
