The Eagles have released LB Takeo Spikes, their top defensive addition from last off-season. Some Birds fans will definitely be scratching their heads over this one, although the move had been rumored before, and could mean they're freeing up cap space.

Jevon Kearse is going back to the team he started his career with. The Titans signed Kearse to a 2 year, 6 million dollar deal. The Eagles cut Kearse last week in a move to free up the money needed to sign Asante Samuel. Kearse never lived up to the huge contract the Eagles gave him, but he should settle nicely into a complimentary role in Tennessee. Hopefully the Titans aren't counting on him...

The question was how could they afford to pay so much after signing LB Chris Clemons and CB Asante Samuel. Well the answer is pretty simple, Clemons and Samuel were both absolute steals.
