The Pirates are one game under .500 in mid-June. This is, to say the very least, a pretty pleasant surprise. Still, this brings up some interesting issues that most of us didn't think would be a problem this year. What is the ultimate goal of the 2008 Pittsburgh Pirates? It's an interesting question. ... That was nicely refuted [at WHYGAVS]. As much as we all desperately want the Bucs to end the losing, .500 doesn't help in the long run. We'd love even more for the current team to make an amazing run to October, but seriously, how likely is that? Hopefully Huntington and Co. aren't foolish enough to fall for this trap.
