ashman +1A vote up for general wackiness. When the Celtics eventually have 5 losses I expect "Stern is out to get us" to be the main theme of the daily Celtics blog-cycle.-
BullsBlogger He's from New York! Red Aurbach once cracked him in the nuts!

RedsArmy Actually... this isn't a Celtics-specific thing. So the C's lost... I'm not crushed by it. On the play in question... the call went Boston's way. Read the post... it's not an excuse for the loss... it's an overall problem with the way calls are made.
I think this is an NBA-wide problem.

ashman I read it. I get it. It's still Celtics-specific. I've seen plenty of calls off the ball this season (haven't even watched the Celtics yet), and didn't the ref scandal prove Stern has less control over what's going on than the NBA conspiracy theorists want everyone to believe?

chone The Celtics didn't lose that game because of the refs - there were quite a few factors that cost them the game. But it really made me scratch my head when Dwight Howard shoved Scalabrine (the result? Garnett got teed up.) and then Pollard later and didn't get a single T. He probably should have had 2 and gotten tossed. You could call 3 seconds on him every posession as well. I counted to 5 a couple of times. -
RedsArmy Jeez.... I should have posted this through someone else's site.
I'll state this flat out: The Celtics did not lose because of the refs. The Celtics had a lead in the 4th quarter and couldn't hold on. They lost. I'm ok with the loss.
My problem is with the late whistles that I've seen in every game. Just watch a game tonight... or tomorrow... and I'll bet you notice late whistles. Refs are waiting to see if the shot goes in to determine if there's a foul.
