Raider X has emerged from the witless protection program to offer his thoughts on the Oakland Raiders’ blockbuster trade for DeAngelo Hall. He takes some time to wonder whether Fabian Washington, Stanford Routt or Stuart Schweigert will be the odd man out in the Raiders’ remade secondary, or is this a sign that Nnamdi Asomugha may be the one on his way out. ESPN’s John Clayton reports that the Oakland Raiders and DeAngelo Hall have a contract extension in place once he’s officially acquired. The deal is smaller but almost comparable to the one Asante Samuel received from the Philadelphia Eagles. Hall will get over $50 million during a 6-year deal. When Samuel received that much money I was a little surprised, but Hall I’d say is more deserving.

A report on espn says that the Raiders have signed Nnamdi Asomugha for an 8 year deal that will pay in the neighborhood of $108 million. This is Al Davis locking up his best young player for the duration of his career.
