Of course, Manny thought it was just hilarious : I just went to the bathroom, Ramirez said with a chuckle after Los Angeles 8-6 victory. All the guys said, Hey, we play nine in here. This time, there was a plausible explanation sort of for Ramirez s brief but conspicuous absence: He thought he had been pulled from the game. Manny says he was late because he had to go take a leak. Whatever happened, what's most important is that Manny finally feels comfortable in his new digs and is back to his old ways. Just classic. And if you remember Manny's last few weeks with the Red Sox, he seems to play according to his own schedule. I swear it wouldn't surprise me if he left a game in the middle of the 5th inning to grab a beer at this point in time. That's about the only thing he hasn't done yet.
By the way, I'm sure Torre couldn't be happier with his new right fielder.
