That’s the question asked by Mizzle in the comments of our last post.
I never heard an announcement. I never saw anyone else mention it. So… did the Celtics just quietly name Ray co-captain? Or is there a typo on their roster ?
Hopefully, a real journalist confirms ...
Player of the Game - Ray Allen
celticsgreen.blogspot.com 11/23/2008 — The Player of the Game had to be Ray Allen. He had 18 points in the first quarter, allowing the Celtics to win the first quarter for the first time this season. He finished with 26 points on 9-16 shooting and was 5-10 from beyond the arc. He also had 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. His ...

Props to Ray Allen
sonicscentral.com 11/20/2008 — So 2 offseasons ago I took all kinds of crap for criticism of Ray Allen after the trade.

Ray Allen Jordan 2.5 Player Exclusive
nicekicks.com 12/30/2008 — Ray Allen and the Celtics had a bad day on Christmas, but at least Sugar Ray got something special from Jordan Brand for the game. Well, he always has good sneakers, but he got a special "Clover" colorway of the Jordan 2.5 for the loss.

This Is Why Ray’s Hot
redsarmy.wordpress.com 1/18/2009 — When the Celtics offense is REALLY humming, Ray Allen is really scoring. In the Celtics funk, Ray was ice cold. In the past 5 games, he’s been really hot. And I’m not sure if anyone else noticed, but the past 5 games have also involved a lot more 2-point shots than he usually takes.
Celtics start is the same, but Ray Allen isn't
examiner.com 12/10/2008 — The numbers don't lie. In December, he's hitting 57% of his shots and scoring 26.5 ppg. He's shooting 51.4% from THREE. That's a ridiculous number. That's like Tiger Woods making eagles on par 5's silly. Home runs in every 3 at bats silly.
Oh, and he hasn't missed a free throw yet this month.
