Brett Myers has lost his fastball. He needs it back. And fast. Brett Myers is lost. He can't seem to break 89 mph with his fastball, which is a shock for somebody who always has been able to throw much harder. So he has abandoned his fastball early in games and has tried to fool hitters with his cutter and other offspeed pitches. It hasn't worked. He is 2-2 with a 5.11 ERA after six starts ... [link]

... a big fan of long toss. It's too early to start freaking out about 4-8 mph, but we certainly hope Myers isn't so stubborn and will listen to his coaches. The Phillies have kind of gone under the radar a bit over the past few weeks with the Sixers and Flyers exciting playoff runs and the Eagles draft. But one thing is clear, they're record at the end of April will not be nearly as bad as in years past.
