Jason Schmidt returned to the mound for the Dodgers on Sunday morning; unfortunately it was nothing more than a brief simulated game in the bullpen. They say that Schmidt threw just over 100 pitches in total and his velocity looked better than they have seen from him since he showed up to camp in the spring. ... Brewers 9, Dodgers 5: The Dodgers continue to reel (four losses in a row!), and Prince Fielder continues to totally rock (two homers!). The Brewers, who pushed their lead over the Astros to 6.5, also welcomed back Richie Weeks to the lineup. Fortunately for the Dodgers, Jason Schmidt appears close to returning to the rotation.
