Sox Machine — Dewayne Wise opted for free agency on Friday, and this story is a good example of why it’s nice to have a number of media outlets. MLB.com , the Chicago Tribune and the Daily Herald devote only a brief to it, which is fine. Wise wasn’t a part of the future, and while he made the catch to preserve Mark Buehrle’s perfect game, he didn’t serve much of a purpose at the end of the season.
