According to Roch Kubatko of MASN, the White Sox have discussed a trade with the Orioles for second baseman Brian Roberts .
Gavin Floyd would be sent over from Chicago. The White Sox reportedly want to make it a straight-up swap, but the Orioles, predictably, are asking for more.

O's, White Sox Talking Roberts for Floyd
Fantasy Sports Experience —
More good stuff from MLBTraderumors.com. They are reporting that the Orioles and the White Sox are discussing a Brian Roberts for Gavin Floyd deal. The major hold up being that the Orioles want more in return than just Floyd. Makes sense to me. A lot of teams would demand more than just one of those pesky 25-year-old, 17 game winners, with good ERAs and low WHIPs for the services or a 2B. ...

Friday, January 02, 2009 (1/02/2009 07:08:00 PM) - Al Considering Brian Roberts is a FA after '09, I'd trade him for Gavin Floyd in a second. Roberts is a nice player, but he's among the most overrated out there because of his SB potential. You can get 80-90% of his production for 10% of the cost. BAL, if they are to turn the page and truly start building to be a contender in '10/'11, should have already done this deal...my gosh, ...
Roberts to White Sox for Floyd?
The Loss Column -- Baltimore's Independent Sports Talk Alternative -- a Baltimore Sports Blog and Community —
Courtesy of a comment from Joe the Guy, we have news of a terribly juicy new rumor: the possibility of Brian Roberts heading to the White Sox in exchange for the other hometown hero, pitcher Gavin Floyd.
There’s info and speculation available at both MLBTradeRumors and Roch Kubatko’s blog.
First impression: let’s get this done.
I’m with JtG in thinking that it might not be a great straight-up deal, but I’d do it anyway. As much as I love Brian Roberts, there’s ...

... - Rumor is that the White Sox and Orioles were talking about a Gavin Floyd for Brian Roberts trade, but it's being held up because they Orioles are asking for more. Now maybe I'm overrating Gavin Floyd, but I like this trade for the Orioles if it goes through. Floyd was solid last season, with a 17-8 record, 3.84 ERA, and 119 ERA+ in 206.3 innings and even though Roberts is just 30 years old and a solid player; the Orioles might need to give up someone like Roberts to improve their pitching staff. I do admit that Roberts is a solid leadoff man and the Orioles would certainly ...
