Who sits for the opener and witnesses to a riot...(UPDATE) Links6
Let's see, five lines, one's out for Saturday: We're thinking Rissmiller, Fritsche and, gasp!, Petr Prucha. Could the Rangers sit the Czech winger in his homeland? Don't dismiss the possibility. Or maybe Sjostrom instead. Voros-Betts-Orr seems to be a lock. UPDATE ... [link]

Rangers revved up and -- well, ready is another thing

As for our thoughts: we're pumped for Korpikoski. We'd think that the Sjostrom-Korpikoski-Callahan line should be a great energy line, and it means that the Rangers have three -- count 'em, three ! -- lines that can actually produce goals. On the Beat

... Petr Prucha will not be in the line-up for the Rangers on Saturday in his native country and he isn’t happy about it.  This is a tough one for Tom Renney.  He wanted Prucha to have earned a spot in the line-up (which I guess he didn’t) but at the same time he had to have considered the letdown it will be to have Prucha sit out in the Czech Republic.  He doesn’t seem to fit into the Rangers’ plans and there have been rumors that he is on the trade block, so a trade within the next little while wouldn’t surprise me. ...

... wreak vengeance on the Rangers’ Colton Orr after their fight in a recent warm-up game? If so, it would be the first “real NHL fight” Czech fans have ever seen.“I cannot guarantee a fight,” Koci said Friday night. “But you never know what happens at the end of the day.”For what it’s worth, Lightning coach Barry Melrose confirmed that Koci will get ice time in the Prague games. Say it ain't so. Prucha benched and PO'd. He won't even be on the 4th line. Ouch. Steve Zipay at Blue Notes: Who sits for the opener and witnesses to a riot... ... count. But I’m expecting the letdown. It always seems like they do that to us. But maybe it’ll be different this year? Please? Tonight’s anticipated line-up The Rangers cut Potter and Fahey, which means they won’t carry seven defensemen. It’s not surprising to me since Tom Renney has said he doesn’t like carrying seven dmen because it’s difficult to rotate them into the line-up. Read about it here, here and here. Lundqvist is expected to start both games this ...
